It was an emotional evening as each senior in the chapter was recognized and given awards. As Andy Joe Moore explained it was an award ceremony but it was also the last official function the 2023-2024 executive committee would undertake. The 2024-2025 executive committee features Matthew Estes as president, Abigail Coleman as vice president, Anna Kate Alexander as secretary, Jonna Ford as treasurer, Alana Houchen as reporter, Addyson Allen as sentinel, Brooklyn Russell as parliamentarian, Jay Houchens as chaplain and Holland Kelsay as the historian. Numerous awards were given out during the two-hour ceremony. According to Moore these awards were for their accomplishments throughout the year. There were also a handful of surprise awards that were presented to FFA students without their knowledge. Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.
As part of the 50th celebration the chapter took a brief moment to recognize some of the original 73-74 officer team. David Wiley served as president, Terry Bradley served as vice president, Norris Jackman filled the role of secretary, Rondall Smith was the reporter and Danny Casteel was the chapter’s sentinel. As part of the 50th year celebration the chapter had many old FFA memorabilia on display as well as five jackets from each school chapter that came together when the high school was formed back in the 1970s. Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.
