On May 6 several veterans along with Glasgow Mayor Henry Royse and Barren County Judge-Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd drove to a small house on Mary's Court to wish farewell to 93-yea-old Don Bolles, who fought in the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Matt Mutter presented Bolles with a small white box wrapped in blue ribbon as a present to show appreciation for his service. Another in attendance also handed Bolles a coin that he could carry in his pocket. Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.
After the presents, Bolles briefly talked about his experience in the Korean War. βIt was cold there,β Bolles said. βI said if I ever get warm again I would move to a place that never gets cold.β Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.
