Former Cave City councilman Steven “Steve” Carter Pedigo died at the Medical Center in Bowling Green on May 5.
Pedigo, 75, served on the Cave City City Council for more than two decades and, as Cave City Mayor Dwayne Hatcher said, was a staple in the Cave City community who touched countless lives serving as a member of the Cave City Volunteer Fire Department and working at R.R. Donnelly & Sons in Glasgow.
“We’re very saddened at the loss,” Hatcher said. “He was a pillar of our community who worked hard and cared. He’ll be sorely missed and was a great council member who did work for our citizens and the Cave City community.”
Recently Pedigo announced his resignation from the Cave City City Council due to, as Hatcher confirmed, health concerns. Pedigo’s statement was then read by Hatcher at the April 8 council meeting.
Visitation will be at Bob Hunt Funeral Home in Cave City on May 10 from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 4 p.m.
