The Happy Valley Inn is now listed for sale after almost a year since its operation permit was revoked by the Barren River District Health Department.
According to Coldwell Banker Commercial property listings, the 0.79 acres, 17 room inn — which is located at 500 Happy Valley Road — is listed for sale priced at $269,500. It is listed as being “closed” and “in need of renovation.”
Barren River District Health Department originally revoked the inn’s permit to operate in October 2023 after the department cited the motel owner for multiple violations. Roughly a week after the suspension, on Oct. 22, 2023, the owner — which, according to the Barren County Property Valuation Administration, is listed as Ashab Inc. — issued a vacate notice to the inn’s at least 20 residents before posting no trespassing signs on the property that November.
Since then the black-and-orange “No Trespassing” signs have hung on each of the motel’s doors, but now, nearly a year after those signs were posted, a white sign adorns the brick building advertising its sale.
The Happy Valley Inn joins 10 other Glasgow commercial properties for sale, including the former R.R. Donnelley building. The former printing facility has been for sale since Contemporary Amperex Technology Kentucky announced its departure in August 2023, and was originally listed at $33 million, but has since been decreased to $27 million.
