Glasgow High School’s academic team recently won its 14th-straight district Governor’s Cup. Barren County High School students also placed in several events.
In the team competitions, Glasgow won first place in Quick Recall and second in Future Problem Solving.
The following Glasgow students took first place in their respective events: Diya Nair, Mathematics; William Vargas, Science; Kasan Peters, Social Studies; Mary Kate Vance, Language Arts and Arts and Humanities.
Barren County captured the top two honors in Composition, with Emmaline Phelps and Alana Houchens finishing first and second, respectively.
Glasgow students who also placed at the competition: Josue Lopez, second in Math; Diya Nair, second, Science; Jacob West, fourth, Math; Rudra Chaudhary, second in Social Studies and fifth in Science; Ian Parocai, fifth, Social Studies; Kasan Peters, second, Language Arts; Emma Jessee, third in Language Arts and third in Arts and Humanities; Danica Ingram, second, Arts and Humanities; and Callaway Mackie, third, Composition.
The following Barren County students also placed: Emmaline Phelps, third in Math; Logan Dickerson, fifth, Math; Faith Ann Campbell, third in Science and fourth in Composition; and Damian DePaz, fourth, Language Arts.
