Area high school girls will have the opportunity to receive a prom dresses, shoes and accessories free-of-charge through the Cinderella’s Closet program, which will host an event this Saturday, March 8, at First United Methodist Church in Glasgow.
The program is for “anyone who needs it,” said Courtney Benefield, of South Central Cinderella’s Closet, in a recent interview with WCLU Radio.
“We also make sure that it’s altered and fits them perfectly before they go out the door,” Benefield said.
The non-profit program is possible through donations of new and gently used formal dresses and accessories.
“We take monetary donations and buy some new stuff as well,” Benefield said. “So we have great quality things.”
Those interested in signing up for the event can message South Central Cinderella’s Closet on Facebook, speak with a Family Resource Youth Service Center representative, or send an email to: sckycinderellascloset@gmail.com.
“We’re really good about getting back with messages,” Benefield said. “Girls can message us and we’ll send them a link to register.”
