The Caverna Independent School District Board of Education members will hold a special-called meeting at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 21, at the district’s central office to discuss several items related to staffing and compensation for the 2025-2026 school year, including salary schedules and stipends.
Certified and classified staff are slated to see at least a 1 percent salary increase if the board approves the proposed changes. The classified salary schedule also includes a proposed extension of service from 10 to 27 years.
Substitute teacher pay, supplemental salary schedules for district and school personnel, and athletic and extracurricular stipends for the upcoming school year are also on the table.
The board is expected to review and vote on a capital funds request and will discuss the district’s bonding process and tentative budget as part of the meeting.
The agenda reads as follows:
1. Approve Agenda as Prepared and Presented.
2. Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation
3. Public Comment
4. Discuss Bonding Process.
5. Approve Capital Funds Request.
6. Approve Certified Salary Schedules with a 1% Increase for the 2025-2026 School Year.
7. Approve Classified Salary Schedules with at least a 1% Increase and an Extension of 10-27 Years for the 2025-2026 School Year.
8. Approve Substitute Teacher Salary Schedule for the 2025-2026 School Year.
9. Approve Supplemental Salary Schedule for District and School Personnel for the 2025-2026 School Year.
10. Approve Athletic and Extracurricular Stipends for the 2025-2026 School Year.
11. Discuss Tentative Budget.
12. Adjournment.
