The Barren County Fiscal Court is in the process of giving a piece of property to the city of Glasgow.
Conversations regarding the gift resulted in a motion being made by Magistrate Jeff Botts during the May 20 Barren County Fiscal Court meeting, specifying it was not the whole now-cleared property off West Main Street, but only roughly 2,000 square feet immediately to the left of the county attorney’s office, which is currently owned by the county.
Botts said the county had been in conversations with the city regarding plans for that area and the wall repairs. The city’s plans included a set of steps occupying some of the property, and it makes sense to deed that property to the city, especially if the county goes through with its plan to sell the county attorney building in the future.
Barren County Attorney Mike Richardson said he completely supports deeding the property to Glasgow.
The motion passed unanimously. The property valuation administration lists the property as 0.5 acres with a value of $10,000
