Ten local children will get the opportunity to participate in the Glasgow-Barren County Boys & Girls Club Summer program at no cost due to a donation made by the Glasgow Electric Plant Board’s employee charity, the RBG Foundation.
In a letter sent to the Glasgow EPB, Mallie Boston, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Glasgow-Barren County, shared her gratitude to the foundation and GEPB employee Kasmine Stockton, who helped with the selection process for who received the donated scholarship funds.
“We are especially thankful to EPB employee and Boys & Girls Club board member Kasmine Stockton, whose leadership and compassion guided this gift. Kasmine worked closely with our team to identify families most in need of support, specifically focusing on single-parent households facing financial hardship as they entered the summer season. Because of the RBG Foundation’s generosity, ten local youth were awarded full scholarships to attend our 2024 Summer Program.”
Kasmine Stockton, in addition to her role as Customer Relations Coordinator for the Glasgow EPB, has served on the board for the Boys & Girls Club of Glasgow-Barren County since January 2025. When the opportunity to utilize the resources of the Glasgow EPB’s employee foundation to help children in our community, she knew she had to take it.
“The committee for the RBG Foundation is always looking for exciting ways to offer educational and enrichment opportunities to the children of our community. Having the foundation offer those resources to sponsor ten local students and allow them to participate in the Summer camp program was just an amazing fit for both the mission of the RBG Foundation and the work being done every day at the Boys & Girls Club,” said Stockton.
The RBG Foundation was founded in memory of Jama Young. The goal of the RBG Foundation is to help fund opportunities for youth in the Glasgow/Barren County area. Glasgow EPB employee contributions fund the RBG Foundation.
