The annual Care Power Hour raised over $23,072 for the Breaking Barriers to Care program, which helps cancer patients with treatment costs.
The Breaking Barriers to Care program assists cancer patients with costs they incur over the course of their treatment journey. Since the program’s inception in March 2023, it has provided $52,148.67 in goods and services and helped 250 cancer patients throughout the southcentral Kentucky region with things like roundtrip rides, nutritional supplement drinks, gas cards and post-mastectomy supplies.
Daryl Murphy served as the event’s keynote speaker. During his remarks, which detailed his journey with lung cancer, he encouraged the attendees to “get busy living” and enjoy the present moment.
