The Glasgow Police Department has released its August checkpoint locations, which are limited to the city limits. The checkpoint period is from Aug. 2 to Aug. 30, according to a press release from the police department.
The safety checkpoint locations include Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway (U.S. 31-E) and Happy Valley Road, but are not limited to those streets.
“During the safety checkpoints, officers will be enforcing laws related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance, seat belt and child restraint and motor vehicle equipment violations,” the press release states. “Traffic safety checkpoints are a valuable tool used to promote the safety and well-being of the public as well as providing police with visibility and interaction within the community.”
