More than 500 businesses are a part of Barren Inc, the Barren County Chamber of Commerce.
Barren Inc’s membership services specialist Cathy Botts announced during the quarterly Coffee and Commerce that 69 new businesses in and around Barren County had joined the chamber. Among those newly joined businesses were Glasgow’s Chick-fil-A, the soon-to-be open Highland Social on the Square, Welch Packaging, which recently bought AtCorr and SOKY Pack and Pallet in Glasgow, and R&S Northeast.
“We’re so glad [they’ve] chosen to be a part of our thriving community of business leaders,” Botts said. “We look forward to connecting with [them] and supporting [their] journey.”
This brings the number of chamber members up to 545, Botts said.
With a month left in 2025, Botts said the 69 new memberships does not meet the internal goal of 75 that Barren Inc was striving for, but she remains hopeful that the goal will be met before the end of the year.
“Our goal this year is 75,” Botts said. “We have a lot of potential members that are thinking about it…we’re hoping they change their mind and realize the importance of the visibility, credibility and the networking opportunities that we provide.”
