Two Barren County High School archers earned solid finishes at a major national competition in Florida. School officials say students Cayden Herald and Gracie Jones competed in both bullseye and 3-D events at the National Archery in the Schools Program Championship at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. The championship drew hundreds of boys and girls from across the country.
According to event results, Herald shot a 280 in the boys bullseye championship. That score placed him 182nd out of 1,339 boys competing in the bullseye division. Herald also turned in a 283 in the boys 3-D championship. He finished 81st out of 1,054 archers in that event.
Jones represented Barren County in the girls divisions at the NASP Championship. She shot a 270 in the girls bullseye championship, placing 308th out of 1,288 archers. Jones also competed in the girls 3-D championship, where she shot a 279. That score put her 86th out of 1,014 archers in the 3-D field.
