Glasgow News 1
Work continues on two major roadways into and out of Glasgow this week. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 released this week’s traffic impact report, and U.S. 31-E south of Glasgow and Ky. 90 between Glasgow and Cave City are listed.
The work on Ky. 90 (Happy Valley Road) has been ongoing throughout 2026, and is entering its final stages. The work is on the road from Veterans Outer Loop in north Glasgow to Sanders Street on the south side of Cave City.
“The project to enhance safety and efficiency in this section is nearing completion,” District 3 stated in this week’s traffic impact report. “The final stages of the project have started. Crews will be adding rumble strips, guardrail work and thermo markings. Lane closures and delays are possible.”
Work began a few weeks ago on U.S. 31-E (Scottsville Road) and will continue for several months. It includes improvements from near J. Carter Road to Louie B. Nunn Expressway on the south side of Glasgow.
“Motorists should expect daytime lane closures,” the release stated. “Work includes drainage improvements, a new turn lane at Windy Hills Road, and minor roadway widening that will create a 4-foot centerline buffer between opposing travel lanes.”
All work is subject to change.
