Barren County is in a flood watch, according to the National Weather Service’s Louisville office.
The flood watch lasts until 1 a.m. on June 17. During this time, the service states flash flooding from “showers and thunderstorms” are possible for “portions of south central Kentucky.”
“Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,” the service states. “Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.”
Showers and thunderstorms are likely today, June 16, and tomorrow, June 17, according to the service.
