Resident students at Western Kentucky University, Eastern Kentucky University and Murray State University will see their bill increase for the 2025-26 academic year.
The Council on Postsecondary Education approved a recommendation to raise undergraduate tuition and mandatory fees for resident students at the three universities by $420.
At Eastern Kentucky University, this action will increase base undergraduate resident tuition and fees from $10,020 to $10,440, or by 4.2 percent which will offset a projected 3.8% increase — or $10.3 million — in fixed costs.
This increase will make Murray State University’s undergraduate resident tuition and fees $10,320, which is up from $9,900. This revenue will offset a projected $9.1 million increase in fixed costs.
Western Kentucky University will increase its base undergraduate resident tuition and fees from $11,452 to $11,872, or by 3.7 percent. Despite this increase, anticipated revenue is projected to decrease by $326,000. However, fixed costs also are projected to decrease by $3.2 million.
Each universities’ Board of Regents had previously approved the increase, according to the council.
