Appearing on Zoom in Barren County Circuit court, Shane Reece entered into a not guilty plea Monday, July 28.
The 58-year-old was arrested in May by Glasgow police at a duplex on McGrah Avenue after he allegedly set fire to the bedroom and shot a woman, who was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for her injuries and later taken to the University of Louisville Hospital.
After a preliminary hearing in district court, his case was forwarded to a grand jury, which indicted him on charges of first-degree assault – domestic violence, first-degree arson, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and torture of a cat or dog.
Circuit Judge John Alexander set Reece’s pretrial conference for Aug. 25 at 1 p.m. and his bond remains at $250,000, according to the Barren County Detention Center website.
