The Glasgow Police Department is changing the look of its patrol vehicles, introducing a new color scheme and decal design that will make police cars easier for the public to see.
The new design and color were chosen by patrol officers from each squad, according to a department press release. The design was narrowed down and then voted on by all officers within the agency.
The updated look features a streamlined appearance with high-visibility reflective elements. Those elements are intended to improve the visibility of police vehicles, especially in lower light conditions, according to the release. The new graphics and colors will replace the department’s current patrol car design.
“We will begin to transition to the new package design gradually as the older vehicles are retired, ensuring a cost-effective implementation with no unnecessary cost,” the release stated.
A vehicle with the new design is parked outside the police department off Happy Valley Road.
