Even though Caverna Independent recently wrapped up its school year graduating its Class of 2026, learning will not stop during summer break.
The school district is inviting community members to a free Lunch and Learn event at 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, at Caverna Elementary.
Caverna’s Beth Hawke said this event is all about mental health.
“We’re doing a code red training,” she said in a recent interview with WCLU Radio. “It’s something that everyone should probably have — a code red plan — if someone finds themselves in a mental health crisis.
“It’s just identifying ways of being proactive and supporting yourself, and so we’re going to have some of our partners there to conduct that training, and then we’re going to have lunch afterwards.”
Hawke said pre-registration is not required for this event.
“It’s open not just to Caverna students and parents, but the whole community,” she said. “We would love to have everybody there just to add this tool to their health and wellness toolkit.”
