Phillips Family Grocery & Butcher Shop, a family-owned market rooted in downtown Hiseville since 1960, has been named a 2026 Best of Kentucky Award winner, according to the business.
The recognition highlights more than six decades of service, quality and local commitment to families across south-central Kentucky.
Founded by the late Clyde and Helen Phillips, Phillips Family Grocery & Butcher Shop began as a hometown grocery in downtown Hiseville.
Over the years, it has grown into a trusted regional staple known for fresh meats, full-service shopping and the kind of customer care that has kept generations of families coming back.
The business now operates locations in Hiseville, Greensburg and Glasgow.
Store leaders say Phillips stands out by pairing everyday convenience with a personal, family-first approach in each community it serves.
The in-store butcher shop offers top-quality meats cut and prepared fresh daily.
On the grocery side, the stores feature trusted national brands, a private label line, specialty products, fresh produce, frozen entrées and sides, KY Proud selections, health and beauty essentials and milk supplied by Hiseville-based Legacy Dairy.
According to the business, Phillips is backed by AWG of Nashville as its principal supplier, allowing the stores to offer consistency, variety and value while maintaining the local character that has defined the family operation for generations.
In a statement, co-owner Trevor Phillips said the recognition carries special meaning for the Phillips family and the store’s employees.
He said the award reflects the trust customers place in the business every day.
“Our slogan, ‘Always Fresh. Always Local. Always Family.’ is more than something we say,” Trevor Phillips said.
“It is how we try to serve every person who walks through our doors.”
As Phillips Family Grocery & Butcher Shop looks ahead, the family says its focus remains on honoring its roots while continuing to serve Kentucky families.
