The Barren County Board of Education is scheduled to consider a bus purchase, revised salary schedules and facility matters when it meets Thursday, Oct. 15, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be at the Barren County Schools Central Office in Glasgow.
The supplied agenda lists the bus purchase among action items, along with a KISTA resolution and the district facility plan public hearing report. It also calls for consideration of a legal services agreement for social media litigation and a YMCA lifeguard contract.
Consent items include revised salary schedules, supplements and stipends for 2026-27, as well as the superintendent’s growth plan for the same year. The agenda also includes the third-year contract for the Kentucky Comprehensive Literacy Grant.
Several proposed bid requests are listed: copiers, Barren County High School roof repairs, banking services, and property and casualty insurance. Separately, the agenda calls for rejecting a mechanic truck bid.
Members are scheduled to consider payment summary No. 7 for the Barren County ATC addition project. Routine financial items include bills, salaries and accounts, monthly financial reports, and first-quarter E-Rate reimbursement.
The agenda also proposes declaring instructional materials surplus for disposal and kitchen equipment and furniture surplus for resale. Fundraisers and student travel requests appear among the consent items.
