Barren County students won several awards at the Beta Club elementary state convention earlier this week in Lexington.
North Jackson was first in Two Dimensional Design, Emily Jiang won in the Performing Arts Instrumentalist category and Davis Cook took first place in Social Studies (fourth grade). Park City’s Annalise Payne was first in Jewelry and Austin Tracy’s Elaina Sanders was named a Premier Performer in the Dancer category.
Red Cross Elementary’s Hunter Blythe took second place in Sculpture, and the following students collected thirds: Emil Velasquez Ortega (Hiseville), Spanish (fourth grade); Kirbie Bonnema (Park City), Hand Drawn Anime; and Stella Jean Shelton (Temple Hill), Woodworking.
The following students were fourth: Lydia Strode (Hiseville), Mixed Media; Wrenlee Cross (Red Cross), Poetry; Asa Young (Austin Tracy), Speech; and Eastern Elementary won fourth place in Technology.
The following students placed fifth: Wyatt Wood (North Jackson), Black and White Photography; Journie Shelton (Temple Hill), Fiber Arts; Hallie Hodges (Eastern), Onsite Art Drawing; Ana Arenas (North Jackson), Spanish (fourth grade); and Eastern Elementary took fifth place in Scrapbook.
